Day 4 is a BLOB

Published: Wed, 12/16/15

Hi

Leading up to Christmas this year, we are sharing our 12 Plays of Christmas at Hoops U!

Day 4 is today ... here's your new play!

Avery High Line BLOB (BaseLine Out of Bounds)

We give a very special thank you to Coach Michael Lang for sharing this play. You can find more from Coach Lang over at the Hoops U. Basketball Coaching Academy.

Avery High Line is a different take on the ‘normal’ line out of bounds play. In most instances, coaches run ‘line’ against zone defenses. They also set the line with the low player near the low block.

In this version, the intent is to run this against a man-to-man defense. As you’ll notice from the diagram, the players also set the line starting at the elbow. With the high set and versus a man-to-man, the players have a lot of room to cut into open areas … especially if the defense is aggressive in denying and overplaying.

See you tomorrow with the next play...

And a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Hoops U!
